The age for menopause was found to be low in women in Denmark, and about 16.7% of women experienced menopause around the age of 40 in the country. However, the average age of menopause in the remaining population ranges between 51 and 52 years.
Moreover, According to World Bank, in 2022, the female population of Denmark aged 65 and above was around 651,000 and it is expected to increase in the coming years. An increase in the geriatric population in the country is anticipated to increase the prevalence of targeted diseases such as postmenopausal osteoporosis, endometriosis & uterine fibroids, menopause, and others.
For instance, according to the International Osteoporosis Foundation, the total prevalence of osteoporosis is around 5.1% in Denmark, and female patients account for more than 77% of total osteoporosis cases in the country. Increasing collaborations among government institutes and market players to improve women’s health are expected to support market growth.
