Cold Climate Heat Pump Market Size & Share Report, 2030GVR Report cover
Cold Climate Heat Pump Market (2023 To 2030) Size, Share & Trends Analysis Report By Product, By Application, By Region, And Segment Forecasts
Cold Climate Heat Pump Market Overview
The term "Cold Climate Heat Pump" (CCHP) refers to a type of central heat pump (HP) that can provide mechanical air heating using the refrigerant vapor compression cycle or a mix of mechanical air heating and electric resistance heating at low outdoor temperatures, preferably as low as 5 ºF. These heat pumps function effectively in colder regions. Compared to standard air source heat pumps, cold climate heat pumps are marginally more efficient and can function in colder temperatures. At lower temperatures, conventional heat pumps usually lose a significant amount of their heating capacity.
However in many regions electrification technologies are becoming more affordable and dependable than fossil fuel systems, an electricity-powered heat pump (HP) experiences performance and efficiency losses when the outside temperature drops below the freezing point. In these cold regions, the cold-climate heat pump (CCHP) outperforms the traditional heat pump in terms of heating efficiency. Advances in CCHP technology have broken up barriers and enabled heat pumps to broaden the scope of their application portfolio to cold regions.
A variety of technologies and designs have been innovated over the past few years to increase the Coefficient of Performance (COP) and heating capability of cold climate heat pumps. In cold climates, homes and buildings traditionally need greater space-heating design loads than space-cooling design loads. US manufacturers are progressively introducing new products made especially for better cold weather performance in an effort to increase air-source heat pumps (ASHP) energy efficiency in cold climates.
The players are engaged in mergers & acquisitions, new product launches ad research & development to as retain their position. For instance, Sprsun has launched various types of heat pumps which are used in swimming pools, inverter heat pumps, and Ac. Some of the prominent players in the industry include Johnson Controls Inc., Sprsun, Mitsubishi Electric, Trane Technologies, Carrier, and Lennox Industries among oth
