Hugel Inc. Botulinum Toxin Revenue & Volume Analysis: A Deep Dive Into Botulax/Letybo, 2010-2026
Hugel Inc. is a South Korean medical aesthetics company established in 2001 and headquartered in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do. The company has a diversified portfolio spanning botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers, skin boosters and absorbable sutures, and cosmetics.
Hugel’s botulinum toxin franchise was introduced in South Korea under the Botulax brand, with commercialization beginning in the early 2010s. As the product expanded beyond its domestic market, Hugel adopted Letybo as its principal international brand, with letibotulinumtoxinA as the international nonproprietary name. The evolution from Botulax to Letybo reflects the product’s transition from a Korea-focused offering into a broader international botulinum toxin franchise. In the U.S., Letybo received FDA approval in 2024 for the temporary improvement of moderate-to-severe glabellar lines in adults, marking an important entry into one of the largest global aesthetic injectables markets.

In addition to Botulax and Letybo, Hugel’s botulinum toxin has been associated with several country-specific trade names, including Aestox, Hugeltox, Magnion, Reage, and Juvenlife. These brand names are relevant when assessing Hugel’s historical and current geographic presence, as the product may be registered or commercialized under different names depending on the market.

Application Areas
Letybo is approved in the U.S., Canada, European Union, and Australia for the temporary improvement of moderate-to-severe glabellar (frown) lines in adults. Korean labeling also lists lateral canthal lines (crow's feet) for adults aged 19 to 65. Korean labeling additionally lists blepharospasm in adults, upper-limb spasticity after stroke, and dynamic equinus foot deformity in children with cerebral palsy aged 2 and over. In clinical practice in Korea, Botulax is also used for masseter reduction (jaw slimming) and calf slimming, which are practice patterns rather than the approved indications above.
