Soil stabilization refers to the process of enhancing the strength and weight-bearing capacity of the soil. By modifying soil properties, soil stabilization improves its durability, stability, compressibility, and other engineering properties. Soil stabilization techniques can be broadly classified into mechanical and chemical stabilization methods. Mechanical stabilization involves altering soil grading by combining it with soils of varying grades, resulting in a compacted soil mass. Conversely, chemical stabilization involves modifying the soil’s properties by adding chemically active materials. The soil stabilization technique is used to construct infrastructure such as roadways, airports, site improvement programs, and others.

The soil stabilization industry is expected to witness significant expansion primarily due to the rapid growth of the construction industry. Furthermore, there is a growing demand for efficient road transportation and sustainable infrastructure to facilitate effective global and international trade, which is one of the critical drivers for the growth of the soil stabilization market.

In January 2021, Caterpillar announced the RM400 rotary mixer, an improved and advanced alternative to the RM300 Rotary Mixer. It offers numerous new features and enhancements, such as 19% greater power, a more sophisticated operating environment, and improved maneuverability. These features enable contractors to achieve demanding requirements in full-depth reclamation and soil stabilization applications. Additionally, in August 2021, Movax Oy and Allu Projects introduced a holistic solution for soil stabilization. It consists of mechanical equipment for storing and feeding the binder, mixing it into the soil, and wholly integrated information and control management (3D/reporting) systems.

China and India have been experiencing rapid growth in urbanization owing to the extremely high population. As urbanization is one of the key drivers, these countries are expected to be lucrative regions for the market. Additionally, regions like North America and Europe primarily use soil stabilization as a dust control solution, making them a few of the dominant regions for the market.
